A distant photograph of the Wupatki ruins, looking like a lonely ship on a vast desert

Paddle boats resting on Lynx Lake near Prescott, Arizona. Nesting eagles were off to the right of the photo. I got there while it was still dark, and watched as the area, and the campers came to life for the day. Small animals scampered by, and the fragrance of bacon cooking over a campfire was heavenly.

Wupatki ruins, just North of Flagstaff

A tree and leaf covered path through Lockett Meadow in the San Francisco Peaks North of Flagstaff, AZ taken in 2009. This was in the caldron of a very large volcano. A very large forest fire destroyed several square miles of trees in this area and the area was closed for several months. I was relieved when I was able to get back in there several months later and found this area had survived.
Alstrom Point in Lake Powell at sunset. There is no road within many miles of this location, so it was the last trip for my late suburban. Navajo Mountain is in the background.

Changing leaves reflected in a small deer pond in Lockett Meadow of the San Francisco Peaks. Not long after this photograph was taken a major forest fire burned several square miles of trees in the area. People still have not been allowed back in to this area so I don't know if this area survived, but I would be very surprised if it did.
At 185 feet tall, Grand Falls is higher than Niagra Falls. This is on the Lower Colorado River and is North East of Flagstaff, AZ. It only flows after big rain fall.
